Our sketch outing is going to be held on Sunday the 23rd during the Patchogue Arts Festival, from Noon to 5PM....come any time to sketch and be part of the festival, check out the Walking Arts Tour and other activities going on!
The Fourth Patchogue Arts Festival A Patchogue Arts Council & Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts Collaborative Event Sunday October 23rd beginning at Noon at the Patchogue Theatre Lobby 71 E. Main St - Patchogue Join us for a free day of art, music, poetry and performance in the lobby of the Patchogue Theatre and throughout Patchogue.
Schedule of events: - Noon- Reception in the PTPA Lobby for the artists of the Walking Tour, this years tour is curator by photographer JoAnne Dumas
- 1PM- Meet Elizabeth Oakes Smith, a famous author who lived in Patchogue in mid-nineteenth century. A brief historic reenactment courtesy of Loren Christie and the Greater Patchogue Historical Society will take place in the PTPA Lobby.
- After saying goodbye to Ms. Smith, grab a map and hit the streets to take the Walking Arts Tour. In addition to the Walking Tour Exhibit, additional arts venues will be open including: the 2011 Patchogue Arts Biennial at Briarcliffe College, WH Design/The Shoppe, Shands Loft Gallery at the Brickhouse Brewery, Gather Studio, the Gallery at 40 So, and Artspace Patchogue Gallery.
- 2PM- Join PTPA Board member and Patchogue Arts Festival Co-Chair Christopher Capobianco for a guided tour of the theatre.
- 2:30-4PM-The Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center will be screening "Surprise Short Films"
- 4:30PM-Live in the Lobby at the Patchogue Theatre featuring alternating poetry and music from Long Island.
Poetry by National Whiting Award Winners Julie Sheehan and L.B Thompson, Spoken Word Artist Frankie Soto/Hidden Legacy and poet extraordinaire, Ed Luhrs. This portion of the evening will be Co-hosted with an introduction by the award-winning PAC poet Michelle Whittaker. The music features Long Island Singer-Songwriters Robert Bruey, Marci Gellar,Athena Wisnewski, Bill Scorzari, Steve Mall, Jewlee, and Otar.
